We prioritize data minimization, collecting only what is necessary to provide our price analytics service:
- Account Information: Your email address and/or an Apple Sign-In identifier, used solely for account authentication and access to your saved data. If you choose “Hide My Email”, Apple may provide a private relay email address. We do not sell personal data.
- Location Data: Approximate location (when enabled) used in real-time to show local results, such as nearby retailers or fuel prices. We do not store long-term location history.
- Usage Data: Anonymized search queries and barcode scans used to improve product matching and global price analytics.
- Technical Data: Transient IP addresses and basic request metadata used for security, abuse prevention, and rate limiting.
2. Security & Infrastructure
We apply industry-standard security measures to protect your information:
- Authentication: Secure login using Sign in with Apple and/or time-limited verification codes sent to your registered email.
- Database Security: Access-controlled credentials and encrypted connections protect all stored data.
- Transit Encryption: All communication between the app/site and our servers is protected via modern TLS/SSL encryption.
3. Third-Party Services
We use a limited number of vetted service providers to operate Rembeo:
- Email Delivery: Specialized providers used solely to send authentication and security codes.
- Sign in with Apple: Apple provides authentication services when you choose to sign in with Apple. Apple may share an identifier and (depending on your settings) an email address (including private relay).
- External Links: When you follow a link to a retailer or service provider, you interact directly with them under their own privacy policies.
4. Data Deletion & Account Closure
You have total control over your data. You can request the permanent deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time.
How to delete your account:
- In-App: Open the app → tap the Settings (gear) icon → Delete account
- Email (support only): inquiries@rembeo.com (for questions or assistance)
What is permanently removed:
- Your account identifier and email records.
- Saved shopping baskets and historical comparison data.
- Personalized settings or preferences.
What we may retain:
- Information required for legal compliance, audit logs, and fraud prevention.
- Fully anonymized, aggregated pricing data that cannot be linked back to an individual.
GDPR Right to Erasure: Users in the UK/EU have the "Right to be Forgotten" under GDPR. Rembeo honors these data deletion rights for all users globally.
