Privacy Notice
1. Who we are
Rembeo is a smart shopping companion that helps you plan everyday purchases, compare options and explore fuel and EV charging information.
This Privacy Notice explains how the Rembeo app and rembeo.com handle your information.
Developer / data controller: Rembeo Ltd.

Contact email: inquiries@rembeo.com
2. What we don’t do
We designed Rembeo to use as little personal data as possible. We:
- do not require you to create an account or sign in;
- do not sell your personal data;
- do not use your data to serve personalised third-party ads.
3. Data stored on your device
The following are stored locally on your device and are not automatically sent to our servers:
- Your shopping lists, items and notes.
- In-app settings such as notifications, analytics and idea suggestions.
If you uninstall the app or reset your device, this local data may be deleted.
4. Scanning, photos and OCR
Barcode & QR scanning
When you scan a barcode or QR code, we process:
- the code content (for example, a product code or URL);
- basic technical data such as app version and time of request.
We use this only to look up product or price information, or to open a relevant link.
Photos and OCR (text recognition)
When you capture or upload photos (for example, labels, receipts or shelf prices):
- Images and extracted text may be sent securely to our backend and/or trusted OCR providers so we can recognise products or text.
- We only use this to power the requested feature (such as reading a label or receipt).
- We do not use these images to train unrelated models or for marketing.
- We do not keep original images longer than necessary to process your request and maintain service reliability (including short-term logs and backups).
Please avoid capturing sensitive documents such as passports, payment cards or medical information.
5. Location, fuel and EV features
Some Rembeo features use your location, such as fuel prices or EV charging maps.
If you grant location permissions:
- we may use your approximate location to find nearby fuel prices or EV charging locations using third-party APIs;
- location may be sent to our backend and to external providers for that specific request;
- we do not use this to create a detailed movement history or sell your location data.
EV charging location data is provided in part by open data sources such as Open Charge Map. Data may be incomplete, out of date or inaccurate. Always check details (price, access, opening hours, restrictions) directly with the station or operator before relying on it.
6. Links, affiliates and third-party sites
Rembeo may show links to retailers, comparison sites, delivery partners and other third parties. Some links may:
- redirect via our own domain so we can count clicks; and/or
- include affiliate parameters so we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases (at no extra cost to you).
Once you follow a link and leave Rembeo, the other site’s own privacy policy, cookies and terms apply. We do not control and are not responsible for their content or data practices.
7. Anonymous analytics (optional)
You can choose whether to share basic, anonymised analytics with us.
If you enable Analytics in Settings:
- we may log non-identifying usage events (for example, which features are used, generic link clicks, app version, approximate time);
- where we track external links, we focus on general domains or categories, not every page you visit;
- we do not attach your name, email or a persistent advertising ID to events;
- we do not use this data to track you across other apps or websites or to build an advertising profile.
You can switch analytics on or off at any time in Settings → Privacy & data settings.
Even if analytics is off, we still use minimal technical logs needed to run the service securely (see next section).
8. Technical logs and security
Our infrastructure may automatically create short-term logs that include:
- IP address and basic device/OS details;
- dates and times of requests;
- the API endpoints used (for example,
/api/fuel,/api/ev-stations); - error codes or messages when something goes wrong.
We use these logs to:
- keep the service secure and defend against abuse;
- diagnose bugs and reliability issues;
- understand general performance.
Logs are kept only for as long as reasonably necessary for these purposes.
9. Children’s data
Rembeo is not designed for children under 16. If we learn that we have unintentionally collected personal data from a child in a way that requires consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights over your personal data, such as:
- accessing a copy of data we hold about you;
- asking us to correct or delete data;
- objecting to or restricting certain processing;
- withdrawing consent where processing is based on consent (for example, analytics).
Because we try not to collect directly identifying data, we may need reasonable proof that you control the relevant device or email before we can act on a request.
You can contact us at inquiries@rembeo.com with any privacy questions or requests.
11. Updates to this notice
We may update this Privacy Notice as Rembeo evolves. If changes are significant, we will highlight them in the app or on rembeo.com and update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
